RISHI PIPARAIYA, CEO
Rishi Piparaiya is a former international banker and senior sales and marketing executive who is now driving various creative and entrepreneurial pursuits through Imaginara. An avid writer, his debut book, Aisle Be Damned, was a national bestseller, and his second book, Job Be Damned, a satire on corporate life, was published by HarperCollins. His next project, Cities of Adventure, was a series of innovative adventure guide books for children, that aims to reshape the way families travel. And he has recently released Three Pigs to Financial Freedom, a beginner’s guide to financial planning.
Rishi is an angel investor in several start-ups and on the board of mentors at the Atal Incubation Center, set up by NITI Aayog, at NMIMS, Mumbai. He is a frequent speaker at forums and business schools and regularly featured in media on topics around careers, entrepreneurship, financial independence, and early retirement.
At the time of changing career tracks, Rishi was the Marketing Director at Aviva, where he was responsible for driving brand strategy, online and direct sales, product development, and digital initiatives. A creative marketer, he has won industry awards for innovative campaigns across traditional and digital channels. His earlier stints included serving as Director, Bancassurance at Aviva, and Senior Vice President, Insurance, Liabilities, and Customer Franchise at Citi India. Under his aegis, Citi India was recognized as the best performing and most innovative Insurance franchise across Citi Asia-Pacific. As a corporate strategy executive, Rishi led various international expansion projects for Citigroup and Banco Santander based out of New York and Madrid respectively.
Rishi has an MBA from Cornell University where he was also awarded the Entrepreneurship Award. He completed his undergraduate education from the University of Rochester, a program in creative writing from the University of Cambridge, and schooling at the Cathedral & John Connon School, Mumbai.
OUR HISTORY
We were founded in 1984 as Aridhi Investment Consultants Pvt. Ltd., by the visionary Ram K. Piparaiya (1943 – 2018), a pioneer of equity research in India. A former corporate executive with multinationals such as the erstwhile MetalBox and Hindustan Lever, he went onto have a successful entrepreneurial career in equities as well as manufacturing. Around 2000, he shifted his focus to creative pursuits and went on to research and write several books on spirituality and art. He also established the Piparaiya Foundation, a small non-profit organization, with the intent to support social and educational causes. He was supported in his ventures by Aparna Piparaiya, who continues to be a director at Imaginara Legacies.
Rishi Piparaiya changed the company name to Imaginara Legacies in 2020, with the vision to create and support initiatives that will make a difference to the world around us.
